A talk with James Lowen (Emmanuel 1991)
Open to: Alumni and guests
When you set foot on Antarctica, the seventh and most remote continent, you feel a surge of emotions that will stay with you for life. You will be amazed, awed and inspired by this unique and spectacular place. To get there, you will join an expedition
cruise ship that sails from Tierra del Fuego in South America. Along the way, you will enjoy the history and scenery of this legendary route. But the highlight of the trip is the wildlife – some of the best and most diverse on the planet. In the backdrop
of icebergs and glaciers, you will encounter seals, whales, petrels and penguins.
Join Cambridge alumnus, former Antarctic ship naturalist and award-winning author James Lowen (Emmanuel 1991) on a virtual cruise along the Beagle Channel and across the fabled Drake Passage to explore the Antarctic Peninsula.
This talk is organised by Last Frontiers, the Latin American tour operator partner for Cambridge Alumni Travel programme.
James will be the trip scholar on an Alumni Travel programme tour to Antarctica in November 2024.
