Heard of the Astrophoria Foundation Year at Oxford, but not sure what it’s all about? If you are a teacher or governor, parent or grandparent, religious leader, counsellor or sports coach, you might already be recommending Oxford to ‘straight A*’ students in your community. You may also be aware of students whose potential far outweighs their likely A-Level grades.
But you may not yet be aware of the Astrophoria Foundation Year: a one-year fully funded programme for UK state school students, designed to bridge gaps between school and the challenging undergraduate courses at the University of Oxford.
Join us to discover from students themselves how transformational the Astrophoria Foundation Year is, and how you might be able to spread the word to enable more students to fulfil their potential at Oxford.
Speaker: Dr Jo Begbie
Jo came to Oxford as a lecturer in the Department of Physiology Anatomy and Genetics in 2004. Jo was also Tutor for Medicine at Lady Margaret Hall before changing direction to lead a pilot foundation year programme. She has been Director of the Astrophoria Foundation since its inception in 2020.
